On December 13, 2022, in the presence of the Director-General of the Taipeh Representative Office in the Federal Republic of Germany, Munich Office, Dr. Ian-tsing Joseph Dieu 趙彥清, and the Director-General of the National Central Library 台灣國家圖書館, Prof. Dr. Tseng Shu-hsien 曾淑賢, the ceremonial opening of the Taiwan Resource Center for Chinese Studies (TRCCS) took place at the CATS Library of Heidelberg University.

On this occasion, a cooperation agreement was signed between Heidelberg University and the National Central Library, which, among other things, provides for the continuous supply of important sinological research literature from Taiwan to the CATS Library, as well as access to relevant databases of the National Central Library and other Taiwanese research institutions.

TRCCS Resources

• The annual TRCCS book donations are placed on a dedicated shelf in the north wing of the CATS library reading room for one year before being sorted into the regular open access area, replaced by the new annual TRCCS shipment.
• TRCCS databases will be made accessible soon.
• Book holdings of the CATS Sinology Collection published before 1911 will be listed in the NCL's Union Catalog of Rare Books Database.

Taiwan Studies Activities at CATS

Under the TRCCS agreement, scholarly events such as the Taiwan Lecture Series are regularly offered at CATS in cooperation with various partners in Taiwan.
