Microfilms & Microfiches

CATS Library has an extensive collection of microfilms and microfiches, many of which are not available in other media forms. The most prominent collections are:

• India: Census of India since 1872; Vernacular newspaper reports; historical South and Southeast Asian newspapers and magazines
• China: Late Qing / Early Republican newspapers and magazines

A microform reader/scanner is available in the north wing of the reading room. An instruction manual is available at the device.
